Job Title Assistant Controller

Job Classification Exempt

Reporting to the Financial Controller of PCI Aviation LLC, the Assistant Controller supports the organization’s accounting functions and provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. Contributes to the development and management of financial reporting, planning, and budgeting through day-to-day management and operational activities.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Performs accounting responsibilities for monthly/quarterly/year-end close.
• Internal and External audit support and coordination.
• Assist with preparing and monitoring budgets.
• Assist with continuous process improvement and implementation.
• Prepare and assist tracking project financials.
• Assist with and prepare cost proposals and pricing adjustments.
• Review and prepare financial statements.
• Prepare Ad Hoc financial reports.
• Ensuring accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and established accounting principles.
• Assist with tax filings and documentation preparation.
• Knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices
• Collaboration and teamwork skills
• Identify, create, and update internal controls and policies.
• Ensure financial records and system processes are up to date.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
• Prepare billings for all contracts and intercompany projects according to billing schedules.
• Review all contracts and establish contract setup in ERP system.
• Train and manage accounting staff.
• Resolves issues arising from operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years’ experience of general accounting, emphasis in GASB is a plus.
• BS/BA or advance degree in Business or related field; additional experience may count towards degree requirement.
• Strong record in finance, project accounting/control, and financial reporting
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, Cost Accounting Standards, and FAR
• Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
• Knowledge of Indirect rates, rate pools, and allocations
• Strong Excel and analytical skills, experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Proficient in basic office and accounting software programs
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Customer Service oriented.
• Highly organized with keen attention to detail
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Experience with DBA & SCA compliance and reporting is a plus.

Physical Requirements

standard office or conference room setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer.
To visit other company sites, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle and fly in an aircraft, both of which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time. Employees must possess vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas will be required. This position requires an employee to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance; reach, push, and pull drawers and doors open and closed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
