A highly qualified professional who has a proven track record in leadership of men’s and women’s athletic programs at the NAIA level and the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Candidates should exemplify the principles, guidelines of Park University and possess experience in administration at the intercollegiate level. In addition, candidates should possess leadership skills, demonstrate a commitment to the highest ideals of sportsmanship and academics, as well as developing and maintaining a positive student-athlete experience.

Position Accountabilities:
- Promote the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletic program, including adherence and enforcement of all departmental policies and procedures, as well as university, conference and NAIA rules and regulations.
- Provide leadership and management of personnel for game management, special events associated with promotional events, half time entertainment, special recognitions and special guests.
- Provide oversight and direction for all head coaches with travel arrangements associated with regular and post season competition.
- Provide oversight for all head coaches in facilitating annual sport competition calendars, game contracts, change of game dates and times, official’s communication & compensation.
- Ability to foster relationships with alumni, friends of the university, and local business to generate additional funding to enhance operating budget; earn corporate sponsorship for events, including conference and NAIA National events.
- Assist the Director of Athletics in facilitating functions associated with communications, and its season ticket members and processes.
- Assist the Director of Athletics in managing all fundraising efforts associated with gifts/donations to athletics in compliance with the policies and procedures of the Office of University Advancement.
- Assist the Director of Athletics in developing and managing a strong Student Athlete Academic Success program, building strong relationships with faculty & staff across campus.
- Provide oversight in maintaining budgets, accountability of the budget managers/head coaches and insure resources are handled accurately and appropriately, per University guidelines.
- Mentor and guide operation processes for various full and part-time assistant coaches, graduate assistants, interns and/or students/student athletes; as assigned.
- Other - duties as assigned by the Office Manager/ Director of Athletics
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of three to five years of significant, progressive, and responsible experience in athletic administration is required with collegiate level experience preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, in a manner consistent with professional standards, including making oral presentations to groups and contributing to the development of high quality written materials which reflect positively on the university.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with internal and external constituencies. Particularly, the ability to relate to students and families from a broad range of backgrounds, both in group situations and individually, and to effectively advise students and mediate disputes.
- The ability to remain calm in crisis situations, act decisively, and apply sound judgment in determining appropriate action regarding interventions, assistance and referral of students to other university staff members.
- Experience establishing collaborative working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and outside constituencies, and work effectively as a member of a staff.
- Ability to prioritize and multi task, while maintaining flexibility, high energy, creativity, and attention to detail and utilize technology to accomplish goals and tasks.
