      SUMMARY: Coordinates all junior school athletic programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with district guidelines.

      Job Tasks Descriptions

      • Coordinates, schedules, supervises, and attends select junior high school athletic events; arranges transportation, coordinates junior high school gym and athletic field use for practices, games, and activities; schedules officials and game workers for home junior high school athletic events; and schedules a junior high school administrator for each home event.


      • Monitors a variety of athletic budgets including the junior high school athletic budgets and equipment budgets.


      • Implements a replacement schedule for junior high school uniforms and equipment in order to maximize cost savings.


      • Communicates and collaborates with school administration on athletes, coaches, community, and parents/guardians regarding student/athlete issues including eligibility issues, student behavior, coaching concerns, etc.


      • Coordinates communication with media including sending out weekly results of games and activities.


      • Communicates professional development trainings to coaches including mandatory trainings and trainings to improve the skills and abilities of coaches.


      • Responsible for the maintenance and safety of athletic facilities and prepares work orders and accident reports.


      • Attends all appropriate district athletic meetings.


      • Promotes school athletic programs and assists junior high school coaches with athletic recognition activities.


      • Performs other duties as assigned


      EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
      Bachelors degree in job-related area.
      Secondary coaching experience preferred.

      LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:
      Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
      Wyoming teaching license required.
      Wyoming head or assistant coaching endorsement preferred

      TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:
      Knowledge of risk management, legal issues in athletics administration and Title IX.
      Strong scheduling, organizational, and time management skills.
      Ability to effectively communicate with district administrators, employees, parents/guardians, students, and community members.
      Ability to manage multiple budgets.
      Strong written and verbal communication skills.
      Ability and willingness to adhere to attendance expectations and to follow district procedures for absence reporting
      Ability to promote and follow Board of Trustees policies, District policies, and building and department procedures
      Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds
      Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate/required safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator

      MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE:
      Personal computers and peripherals.
      Operating knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and/or other department software packages.
