    Annual Giving Manager: Assistant Athletic Director for Development

    The University of Alabama at Birmingham


    The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an experienced fundraising professional to join UAB Athletics as the Annual Giving Manager – Athletics. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of Annual Fund Fundraising Initiatives and activities for UAB Athletics and the tracking and reporting of department-wide performance metrics. This includes managing all solicitations, the renewal process for Blazer Boosters, premium seating and hospitality, B Club, and other initiatives as assigned. A primary responsibility of the individual who occupies this position will be to promote the importance of philanthropy for UAB and will manage a portfolio of annual giving leadership donors, including the Blazer Scholarship Fund and sport-specific giving.


    This position will also manage athletics gift accounting and serve as a primary point of contact for Paciolian and Salesforce CRM management. In addition, the Annual Giving Manager – Athletics will be responsible for oversight of the priority points and ranking system and serve as a sports liaison. This position will also supervise several positions within the UAB Athletics Development Office, including the Director of Development Operations and Premium Hospitality, Associate Manager of Annual Giving, and Assistant Manager of Annual Giving. This position will report to the Senior Director of Development – Associate AD for Development and will be an integral member of the UAB Athletics Development team and UAB Advancement.


    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Manage all Annual Fund Fundraising Initiatives and activities with specific goals and performance metrics
    • Lead and manage a team of annual giving/fundraising professionals.
    • Maintain a portfolio of 150 annual giving leadership prospects/donors and meet all assigned metrics
    • Manage Athletics Gift Accounting
    • Primary Point of Contact for UAB Gift Records
    • Oversee Reconciliation of ticket office and Blazer Boosters online deposits
    • Serve as point of contact for Paciolian & Salesforce CRM Management
    • Oversee priority points and ranking system
    • Develop and manage annual fund benefits structure and stewardship evaluation
    • Oversight of all eQuerry needs and gift accounting needs for Central Development
    • Serve in the capacity of sports liaison relative to fundraising
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Salary Range: $57,940 to $80,000


    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required
    • Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
    • Travel and after-hours work required

    Preferred Additional Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of athletics fundraising, preferably in a higher education setting
