Job Summary:
As the Pastry Chef at The Jones Assembly, you will be responsible for creating and overseeing the production of a wide range of high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods for our busy restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking/pastry arts, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Production and Preparation: Oversee the production of pastries, desserts, and baked goods, ensuring consistency and quality. Ensure that all items meet the established presentation standards and are delivered in a timely manner.
Pastry Management: Manage and mentor a team of prep/pastry cooks, providing guidance and training as needed. Effectively manage inventory, control costs, and minimize waste to meet financial targets.
Quality Control: Conduct regular tastings and inspections to maintain the highest standards of taste, texture, and appearance. Monitor food safety and sanitation practices to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Menu Development: Create and update pastry menus in collaboration with the chef, consultant, and management team(s).
Collaboration: Work closely with the chef team and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless coordination between pastry and savory offerings. Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients while optimizing cost-effectiveness.
