Assembly Supervisor jobs in New Bedford, MA
Assembly Supervisor supervises a manufacturing production line that assembles fabricated parts. Creates daily work schedules, follows standard manufacturing procedures, and monitors work to meet product specifications and production targets. Being an Assembly Supervisor resolves production problems and answers workers' questions about processes, methods, or equipment. Delivers training for new processes or equipment and onboard new employees. Additionally, Assembly Supervisor conducts quality testing on completed assemblies to validate tolerances and product specifications. Reviews daily assembly production records to identify trends or potential performance issues. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Assembly Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Assembly Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Full time Monday - Friday 1st, 2nd & 3rd shift positions available
Responsibilities:
- Prepare machine by placing spools of thread, inserting bobbins, changing and threading needles; securing attachments.
- Remove garment or headwear from box and secure on embroidery hoop.
- Place hooped headwear or garment on machine; position under needles.
- Start and operate or tend machine.
- Adjust machine performance by adjusting settings, thread and bobbin tensions.
- Monitor machine operation to detect problems such as machine malfunctions, defective stitching, or breaks in thread.
- Tie thread on back of machine.
- Remove hooped garment or headwear from machine.
- Maintain quality by inspecting finished product.
- Place hooped garment or headwear in box.
- Ensure operation of machine by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
- Additional as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Previous manufacturing warehouse experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
