Art Services Supervisor supervises all phases of creative development work from concept to completion. Oversees the creation of art, photo, copy, and layout project deliverables. Being a Art Services Supervisor ensures that all policies and standards that reinforce the organization's branding strategy and quality goals are followed. Supports a team of designers, copywriters, project managers and vendors with tools and resources required to complete assignments. Additionally, Art Services Supervisor monitors daily work progress and schedules, resolves issues to meet all production timelines. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Educators are responsible for teaching the MOCA Summer Art Camps, a series of inclusive art camps held Monday- Friday for ten weeks (June 10th - August 16th) of summer for children ages 6-13. Educators will lead a one-week session, at minimum and two consecutive weeks at a time maximum. Educators are welcome to apply to lead multiple sessions. Educators will use visual aids, digital tools, assessments and checklists to maintain a proper attendance and engagement. All Educators must attend the summer camp training on Saturday, June 8th.
Major Areas of Responsibility
· Implement creative and engaging presentations for their Session using the curriculum provided. This includes creating examples and visuals, demonstrating process, modifications for learning styles of the classroom and showcasing excellent education standards.
· Maintain a positive, professional, and enthusiastic attitude with staff, parents, and campers.
· Ensure that activities are effectively and safely implemented following risk management protocol.
· Maintain clear attendance and submit reports after every class, this includes any behavior reports, pre and post assessments, and updates on session progress during the end of day recap.
· Maintain in clear contact with the MOCA Edu department.
· Demonstrate effective problem solving skills, patience, and flexibility.
· Create accurate pre and post assessments of all campers by using guidelines dictated by The Children’s Trust.
· Maintain a consistent and punctual schedule.
· Manage final presentations of student works, creating a clear standard for works to either be stored for the final Showcase or to be taken home by guardians.
· Other responsibilities as requested.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Preferably a Bachelors in Education, Art, Art History or a related discipline.
Requirements
· Experience in a variety of art making skills including drawing, painting, ceramics, and sculpture.
· Experience in the arts.
Desired
· Currently has a Professional Educator Certificate, or pursuing certification;
· Proficiency in a foreign language desirable: Spanish or Creole
Reports to: Summer Camp Manager
Terms of employment: $180 per day, Independent contract employment. Monday through Friday from 8:30am-4pm for a complete one week session; All Summer Arts Camp Educators must participate in a mandatory inclusivity training. This position requires a level II background check, which includes fingerprinting.
