JOB DESCRIPTION:
Corwin Galleries is hiring a Gallery Director/Manager to begin immediately. Located in downtown Hamilton, MT, Corwin Galleries is a high-end art gallery featuring a small, curated collection of artwork from impressive artists around the country. We welcome you to join a stimulating, motivated and art-filled environment.
We are looking for an applicant with an out-going personality who greets every customer as close friends and family. We are known for our welcoming environment! It is important to initiate conversation, regardless of trying to make a sale. With that said, however, we are looking for candidates with a strong sales background and ability to close a sale.
Ideally the candidate should be familiar with artwork, a transactional sales process, installing artwork, and keeping the gallery space elegant and tidy, and promoting the gallery through its marketing programs.
While not attending customers, there are numerous duties to be done and they are listed below.
This is a seasonal/temporary job, could turn into annual position. The gallery is on the market for sale. Timely notice will be given to employee in the event that the gallery does sell.
Responsibilities:
Represent the gallery to promote and sell products/services to existing and prospective clients.
Manage and operate the front desk.
Close and complete sales through point of sale systems.
Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
Keep financial records up to date.
Resolve customer issues and complaints to maximize satisfaction.
Travel to art shows and events.
Install exhibitions.
Establish, develop and maintain relationships with our artists.
Develop digital marketing strategies by studying economic indicators, tracking changes in supply and demand, identifying customers and their current and future needs, and monitoring the competition.
Plans and executes all web, SEO/SEM, database marketing, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns.
Designs, builds, and maintains our social media presence, i.e. Instagram and Facebook.
Brainstorms and implements new and creative growth strategies through marketing.
Develops and executes online advertising of products to targeted audiences.
Write clear marketing copy to promote our products/services.
Proofread and edit blog posts before publication.
Photograph, film and post content of the gallery and its artists daily.
Creating schedules to deliver exciting content.
Posting daily on all social media platforms.
Conduct simple keyword research and use SEO guidelines to increase web traffic.
Promote content on social media.
Identify customers’ needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics.
Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images and tone).
Update website content as needed.
Build an online community and engage with comments.
Plan and execute public events at the gallery, i.e. art shows, and dinners.
Requirements:
Strong experience in sales (3-5 years)
Minimal artistic ability, but an understanding of artistic processes.
Familiarity with BRM and CRM practices along with ability to build productive business professional relationships.
Highly motivated and target driven!
Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs.
Relationship management skills and openness to feedback.
Knowledge of art and ability to speak comfortably about art.
Able follow instruction and install exhibitions.
Self-motivated yet customer-focused
