Art Services Supervisor supervises all phases of creative development work from concept to completion. Oversees the creation of art, photo, copy, and layout project deliverables. Being a Art Services Supervisor ensures that all policies and standards that reinforce the organization's branding strategy and quality goals are followed. Supports a team of designers, copywriters, project managers and vendors with tools and resources required to complete assignments. Additionally, Art Services Supervisor monitors daily work progress and schedules, resolves issues to meet all production timelines. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Art Services Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Art Services Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     POSITION SUMMARY

    This instructional position is responsible for the educational leadership of students in a rigorous charter school. The Art Teacher plays a pivotal role in fostering creativity, cultural awareness, and artistic expression among students in kindergarten through 8th grade. The Art Teacher is expected to understand and demonstrate use of the Core Knowledge Art curriculum and encourage students to explore various art forms, techniques, and cultural traditions. The teacher will develop and implement lesson plans, assess student progress, communicate with parents/guardians, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure the academic and social-emotional growth of each student.

    ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree

    Certification: Valid and current Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board Certificate with an endorsement for Art K-12

    CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Instructs students in all aspects of art education in accordance with the Core Knowledge curriculum, Wyoming State Standards, and SRA’s philosophy.
    • Delivers engaging and effective instruction that caters to the diverse needs and learning styles of K-8 students. Using a combination of demonstrations, hands-on activities, and multimedia resources to engage students in the creative process and develop their artistic skills.
    • Implements fair and constructive methods of assessing student progress in art, such as portfolio reviews, critiques, and performance assessments. Providing timely feedback to students to help them improve their artistic abilities and understanding of key concepts.
    • Maintains accurate student academic, disciplinary, and attendance records.
    • Manages student behavior in an effective manner in accordance with Board policy and the school’s behavior management program.
    • Complies with the rules, regulations, and policies of the school and District.
    • Maintains open communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic concerns through regular updates, conferences, and communication channels.
    • Uses assessment and collaboration to refine curriculum and instructional practices.
    • Participates in professional growth and collaboration, such as professional organizations, professional development training, coursework, workshops, conferences, and other professional activities, such as school committees.
    • Participates in teacher team meetings, staff meetings, and parent-teacher conferences as required.
    • Adheres to professional and ethical standards outlined by the school, district, and state education board. This includes dressing appropriately for school in accordance with the staff dress code, demonstrating ethical behavior in all interactions with students, colleagues, and the community, serving as a positive role model for students, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information pertaining to students, families, and colleagues. These actions uphold the integrity of the teaching profession and contribute to a professional and respectful school environment.
    • Fosters a culturally responsive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and promotes understanding and respect among students from different backgrounds.
    • Willingness to perform other duties as needed outside of normal contract hours to support the school community and achieve educational goals.

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    • Proficiency in various art mediums, techniques, and processes, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, and digital media. The ability to demonstrate and teach these skills to students of different ages and skill levels.
    • A strong creative aptitude and the ability to inspire creativity in students. The capacity to develop engaging and innovative art projects, lessons, and activities that foster imagination, experimentation, and self-expression.
    • Understanding of art history, cultural diversity, and global perspectives in art. The ability to incorporate diverse cultural perspectives, traditions, and artists into the curriculum to promote cultural appreciation and understanding among students.
    • Demonstrates the knowledge of and ability to implement grade level curriculum in accordance with Board policy, ensuring alignment with educational standards and guidelines.
    • Strong knowledge of child development, pedagogy, and best practices in elementary and secondary education. Ability to adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of students and differentiate instruction accordingly.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate, communicate, and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, parents, and students.
    • Working knowledge of the school's curriculum, including familiarity with curriculum standards.
    • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to effectively plan lessons, manage instructional resources and classroom materials, and maintain accurate student records.
    • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
    • Proficiency in technology integration and use of educational software and tools.
