Certified Music or Art Therapist

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Plans and conducts daily Music or Art Therapy group sessions and programs, with individual sessions as needed in accordance with program structure and treatment plan
• Shows evidence of adequate preparation for groups and individual sessions per physician order
• Reports for groups and individual sessions in a timely manner
• Conducts groups and individual sessions consistently with a minimal number of cancellations
• Provides lesson plans or instructions when unavailable for groups
• Shows an awareness for patients' safety and takes steps to reduce the risk of injury
• Adapts group and individual activities and goals to meet the needs of the residents
• Establishes and maintains an empathic therapeutic relationship with residents

EDUCATION:

Required: Master's Degree from an accredited school in the Behavioral Sciences or Therapeutic Recreation

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION:

Required: Must be licensed CTRS, CMBT, LPATA, or LPAT are types of licensure required for Art, Music, or Activities Therapist

EXPERIENCE:

Preferred: One year inpatient behavioral health work experience.
