• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation or related field plus five (5) years of experience in recreational programming; OR
• Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation or related field and nine (9) additional years of related experience, to include five (5) years in recreational programming; OR
• High School Diploma/GED and thirteen (13) additional years of related experience to include five (5) years in recreational programming.
• When assigned to the Art Center, must include at least one (1) year of art-related experience, including community-wide public art initiatives, art programs, exhibits, and art materials and supplies for retail sale.
• One (1) year of supervisory experience.

• Performs planning, organizing, promoting and directing of assigned programs and activities, i.e., aquatics operations, athletics, art center, seasonal festivals and events, special populations and pre-school youth programming.
• Supervises and evaluates the performance of personnel under charge. Recruits, interviews, selects, trains and evaluates full-time, part-time and contract personnel under charge.
• Performs weekly, monthly and annual report duties, i.e., program evaluations, performance evaluations, state program reporting, programming goals and objectives.
• Performs considerable accounting and record maintenance activities concerning purchase requisitions, check requests, payroll and registrations.
• Prepares and administers all personnel and facility rental contracts.
• Prepares and administers budget(s) for assigned program(s) according to established city goals and objectives. Manages revenues and expenditures for preschool, VPK, Art Center and store and facility.
