Art Manager manages the creative design and execution of visual communications to meet an organization's marketing or advertising objectives. Provides internal clients with design standards, tools, and guidance on communicating corporate image, branding, and identity. Being an Art Manager oversees the design and production operations of all visual elements including publications, infographics, and social content, that are deployed across digital, interactive and print. Monitors projects and timelines. Additionally, Art Manager stays current on latest trends. Develops and manages a network of vendors, freelance artists, and designers to utilize for project support. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in art, graphic design or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Art Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Art Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.       ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
      • Prepare for assigned classes
      • Design lessons with an appropriate level of difficulty that provide content in a logical and sequential manner
      • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with the physical limitations of the classroom and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved
      • Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated
      • Identify pupil needs and provide instruction appropriate to those needs
      • Analyze and interpret student data to develop and modify instructional activities
      • Follow modifications and accommodations as specified in Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
      • Implement the Idaho Core Standards, as well as the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives, in lesson plans, classroom instruction, unit planning, and assessments
      • Devise written and oral assignments and tests that require analytical and critical thinking as well as the reproduction of facts, and use them to evaluate student progress on a regular basis
      • Prepare students academically for district, state, and federal testing
      • Display command of the subject matter
      • Budget class time effectively
      • Encourage students to strive to meet their highest potential
      • Establish and communicate classroom rules and encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
      • Make provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms
      • Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students
      • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
      • Attend and participate in faculty meetings
      • Attend IEP meetings and collaborate with special education teachers as needed
      • Keep immediate supervisor informed of activities and any issues that may arise
      • Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, curriculum, objectives, and methods
      • Provide needed and requested information on a timely basis
      • Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules
      • Maintain accurate and complete records as required by federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy
      • Input data in a timely fashion
      • Assume responsibility for his or her continuing professional growth and development by attendance at professional meetings, membership in professional organizations, enrollment in advanced courses, and by reading professional journals and other publications
      • Adhere to The Code of Ethics of the Idaho Teaching Profession adopted by the Professional Standards Commission and the State Board of Education
      • Seek assistance should emergencies arise
      • Represent the school district in a positive manner
      • Know and follow school district policy and chain of command
      • Perform other duties as assigned

      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
      None.

      EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
      • Idaho Teacher Certification in Secondary Education with an endorsement in Art, required.
      • Bachelor degree required.
      • Teaching or student teaching at appropriate grade level, preferred.
      • Two to six years of teaching experience in Middle or High School preferred.

      MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to conduct basic math functions and manipulate formulas in spreadsheets as needed.

      REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
