Art Director directs and develops the creative design and execution of visual communications to meet an organization's marketing or advertising objectives. Provides internal clients with design standards, tools, and guidance on communicating corporate image, branding, and identity. Being an Art Director leads the design and production operations of all visual elements including publications, infographics, and social content, that are deployed across digital, interactive and print. Stays current on latest trends. Additionally, Art Director develops a network of vendors, freelance artists, and designers to utilize for project support. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in art, graphic design or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Art Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Art Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     By exhibiting exceptional teamwork, boundless curiosity, and the utmost care, the Retail Store Sales Associate will assist their team to fulfill Blick’s commitment to our customers, the Arts, and our local communities. The Retail Store Sales Associate will do this by maintaining outstanding customer service, generating revenue through helpful product knowledge, housekeeping, merchandising, signing, pricing, POS operations, and loss prevention in adherence with all company policies and procedures. Responsibilities include:

    • Consistently delivers superior customer service by combining sales, product knowledge, and other skills training in all in-store departments to meet or exceed customer expectations
    • Completes and utilizes the following programs: Blick Onboarding Training, Blick Sales Training, Preferred Customer Program, Design Center Training, and Special Orders
    • Displays an energetic and positive attitude with all customer interactions
    • Assist in the coordination of merchandise set-ups, has knowledge of visual standards and techniques, and can implement and maintain the store as set forth by store management
    • Follows directions and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines as assigned with minimal supervision
    • Understands and acts on the procedures required for reporting low stock levels, inventory discrepancies, and customer product requests to management as needed

    General Requirements:

    • Availability to work flexible schedules including day/evening shifts and holidays as required by the needs of the business

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds while using the appropriate lifting techniques and following all safety rules.

    Travel:

    • Minimal travel in the local area may be required.

    Qualifications:

    • High School Graduate or equivalent.
    • 6 months of previous retail, sales, and/or customer service experience.
