Typically requires a bachelor's degree in art, graphic design or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Gallery Coordinator reports to and assists the Chair of NMAT and the board of directors in managing and supervising the University Gallery. The coordinator provides administrative support for exhibitions, lectures and events, education programs, and tours; s/he works with faculty, students, and staff. Interacting with consultants, volunteers, and visitors, the coordinator will provide an environment conducive to instruction and appreciation of artistic styles and techniques. As the liaison between the university and the community, the coordinator will be responsible for establishing and implementing an agenda of art education through advocacy and outreach, extending the value of a fine arts degree beyond the traditional walls of the university. The coordinator directs programming for local and regional schools, associations, groups, and other friends of Indiana University Kokomo Art Gallery. The gallery coordinator will work with the Chair of NMAT and other university departments to strengthen the curriculum and awareness of art education.
