Job Title: Director of Art & Production

Reports To: Operations Manager

Position Overview: Manages/coordinates workflow & quality of work in the Production Department. Designs & produces PN and SPORTS ’N SPOKES and other materials as assigned.

Position responsibilities and duties:

• Design and produce pages/covers of PN and SPORTS ’N SPOKES.
• Create issue imposition.
• Create and assign inCopy shells.
• Assign duties to Graphics Production Assistant and approve completed work.
• Coordinates with Editorial Department on copy/graphics for PN and SPORTS ’N SPOKES.
• Coordinates monthly and annual production schedule with staff and printer.
• Maintains standard of design quality established for each publication and implements new ideas/designs in consultation with the Editor-In-Chief.
• Stays current on software/literature relevant to the publication design field.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• College degree preferred but not required in graphic design or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum three-five years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Must be detail-oriented, able to work independently, and meet deadlines.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and resolve conflict between production and editorial departments.
• Knowledge in InDesign, InCopy, and Photoshop required.
• Travel: None required
• Print publication design, digital issue design, and web design experience preferred.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
