Art Director directs and develops the creative design and execution of visual communications to meet an organization's marketing or advertising objectives. Provides internal clients with design standards, tools, and guidance on communicating corporate image, branding, and identity. Being an Art Director leads the design and production operations of all visual elements including publications, infographics, and social content, that are deployed across digital, interactive and print. Stays current on latest trends. Additionally, Art Director develops a network of vendors, freelance artists, and designers to utilize for project support. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in art, graphic design or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Art Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Art Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • One River School of Art Design is seeking exceptional candidates to work in our Larchmont school. This role has a direct pathway to becoming a Director in the future. We are looking for people who enjoy the challenge of running small, art based educational centers, thrive in a varied environment and are results driven.

    Requirements:
    • College degree in an arts related field (visual arts)*
    • 2-5 years in a fast paced, public facing environment
    • 2-5 years of administration experience
    • Highly computer literate with knowledge of CRM systems
    • Ability to pivot between different tasks
    • Detail orientation
    • The ability to inspire and motivate people about visual arts education
    • If you do not have a visual arts degree but can prove your demonstrated interest in visual arts through extra-curricular activities, interests and hobbies we may consider your application.

    Overview of Responsibilities:
    • Maximize new student enrollment to drive school performance:
      • Increase student enrollment by following up on new leads, walks ins, phone calls and emails.
      • Keep track of customer inquiries from events, walk-ins, phone calls and advertising outreach
      • Conduct tours of the center and provide an inspirational experience for the prospective students
      • Explore other ways of enrolling students by connecting with past leads, email engagement, text engagement and referrals.
    • Provide exceptional member service for a hospitality level customer experience:
      • Provide warm and friendly front desk service, warmly greet every member, student and guest
      • Resolve member conflicts and maintain exceptional service with every customer interaction.
      • Follow up with missed calls and voicemails in a timely manner.
      • Communicate center policies to members and ensure they sign the membership agreement.
      • Track and analyze member billing to ensure accuracy around billing, credit usage, coupon usage and subscription status.
      • Follow up with outstanding orders to collect on failed payments
      • Communicate with members regarding holiday /emergency closures.
    • Maximize community engagement and brand awareness through local events, exhibitions, social media and the website:
      • Participate and execute school events, local community events, rack card distribution and networking to raise school awareness.
      • Design and update posters and collaterals to meet the needs of upcoming events and programs.
      • Design and send email blasts, text blasts and mail to the school's contact record database to promote the school.
      • Manage website content to ensure the most up to date class schedule, class inventory, camp schedule, camp inventory, events pages, exhibition page and team page.
      • Assist in facilitating 2-3 professional artist exhibitions each year.
      • Create interesting and attractive posts on social media to promote the Art Center and its events
      • Join local groups and maintain consistent posting.
    • Facility Management:
      • Create a welcoming front desk experience ensuring the gallery space is always attractive, well maintained and tidy.
      • Order supplies and materials for the center
    Schedule, Pay, Benefits:
    • 40 hours per week according to School needs - This will include weekends and evening hours.
    • $50,000 to $55,000 per annum plus bonus
    • Vacation (10 days rising to 15), Sick pay (5 days), Personal days (2), Holidays (10).
    • Free art classes for self and immediate family
    • Parking permit for nearby garage is paid for
