Art Director Assistant assists the Art Director with all phases of design projects to ensure successful project completion. Monitors work through all stages of pre-production and production and facilitates solutions to any issues that may arise. Being an Art Director Assistant reviews the work of videographers, photographers, designers, and graphic artists. Requires knowledge of typography, layout, color, and visual communication. Additionally, Art Director Assistant requires a bachelor's degree of art or design. Typically reports to Art Director. The Art Director Assistant gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Michael Godard Fine Arts Associates and Max Art Productions is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join its team.
The position tracks inventory and manages procedures for incoming and outgoing objects of art.
Ideal candidate will be extremely detail-oriented, highly organized, and a talented communicator, who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities may include:
Coordinate and track internal and external movement of artwork
Participate in logistics related to artwork for gallery projects, on- and off-site exhibitions and sales.
Ensure packing, handling and installation standards and protocols are met
Generate paperwork associated with the movement of artwork, including incoming and outgoing receipts, consignments, and loan agreements
Packing and preparing works of art for shipment
Following up on the location of works
Maintain inventory database — add new records, artwork data, update locations
Special Projects as required
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of two years similar experience
Background in art a plus!
Proficiency with software programs such as Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office
