Art Director Assistant assists the Art Director with all phases of design projects to ensure successful project completion. Monitors work through all stages of pre-production and production and facilitates solutions to any issues that may arise. Being an Art Director Assistant reviews the work of videographers, photographers, designers, and graphic artists. Requires knowledge of typography, layout, color, and visual communication. Additionally, Art Director Assistant requires a bachelor's degree of art or design. Typically reports to Art Director. The Art Director Assistant gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. 1. Acts appropriately under the direction of the Executive Director and as an active
member of the interdisciplinary team.
2. Adjusts to changes in schedule to meet resident and family needs.
3. Develops a social history of each new resident.
4. Utilizes the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process in conducting a
psycho-social assessment.
5. Formulates a Care Plan which addresses the identified problems, needs, and
concerns.
6. Documents progress toward goals, assessment updates, and interventions.
7. Reviews the resident's progress toward resolution of problems, needs, or
concerns; evaluates the effectiveness of the staff approaches; evaluates changes in
the mental and psycho-social assessment.
8. Participates in the interdisciplinary assessment reviews and revisions; revises the
residents' Care Plan according to residents' needs.
9. Participates in the pre-admission screening of potential residents and provides
information to residents and families.
10. Orients the resident to the long-term care environment and facilitates adjustment
to placement.
11. Coordinates the Complaint / Grievance program with appropriate disciplines and
verifies that complaints / grievances are handled in a timely manner.
12. Works with residents to obtain Advance Directives upon admission and reviews
with residents at least annually.
13. Verifies that a Heart-To-Heart coordinator program is implemented in the
Facility.
14. Reviews behavior charting so that an appropriate Care Plan is developed.
15. Provides therapeutic counseling to residents and family members, as appropriate,
to meet the residents' psycho-social needs.
16. Coordinates appointments in the community for various health care visits and
therapeutic needs.
17. Coordinates in-services for staff in areas concerning the mental and psycho-social
needs of the resident.

18. Educates the community regarding aging, rights of residents, Facility services,
and other related topics.
19. Informs residents and families of their rights and responsibilities and educates
staff about residents' rights and Facility implementation of those rights.
20. Serves as the resident's advocate.
21. Assesses the resident's potential for discharge as a member of an interdisciplinary
team. Plans for the resident's discharge and post-discharge with the resident,
family, and interdisciplinary team. Assists the resident and family in the
implementation of the discharge plan.
22. Performs various Quality Assurance audits and is an active member of the Quality
Improvement team.
