Art Director Assistant assists the Art Director with all phases of design projects to ensure successful project completion. Monitors work through all stages of pre-production and production and facilitates solutions to any issues that may arise. Being an Art Director Assistant reviews the work of videographers, photographers, designers, and graphic artists. Requires knowledge of typography, layout, color, and visual communication. Additionally, Art Director Assistant requires a bachelor's degree of art or design. Typically reports to Art Director. The Art Director Assistant gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Travel Required: Up to 10%

    Montserrat College of Art is seeking an experienced and team-oriented higher education professional to serve as our next Assistant Director of Admissions: Outreach. Under the supervision of the Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Admissions: Outreach is responsible for building and enhancing various internal and external relationships that have a direct impact on the college’s enrollment efforts. The Assistant Director of Outreach is specifically responsible for managing our 2 2, articulation, and dual enrollment agreements as well as maintaining MOUs with various art organizations. This position will oversee the College’s non-traditional admissions programs, including the Summer Art Educator Institute. The Assistant Director is also a thought partner, working with the Director and broader College administration on enhancing our outreach efforts to potential students, schools, and communities.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Develop, update, and maintain the college’s 2 2 Articulation Agreements, while building relationships with Community College art department chairs
    • Develop and maintain relationships with high school art educators as it relates to recruitment and programming
    • Serves as a primary contact for prospective Transfer students and their families relative to their interest in the College.
    • In conjunction with the Director of Admissions and other key departments, oversee major functions of Montserrat’s Art Educator Summer Institute as it relates to recruitment
    • Build and cultivate relationships with specialized art programs through a variety of workshops, information sessions and other engagement activities
    • Develop and implement specialized programming to targeted audiences to support Montserrat’s overall enrollment goals
    • In conjunction with the Director of Admissions and the Admissions team, oversee coordinator and plan on- and off-campus admissions events
    • Represent the College at a variety of on- and off- campus events including college fairs, portfolio days, school visits, and on-campus admissions events
    • Seasonal local, regional, and national travel (surface and air) is required including weekends and evenings, particularly during the fall recruiting season
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Minimum qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in an art/design related field, with 3-6 years of experience in higher education/admission. Master’s degree is preferred.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills
    • Must possess the ability to use a variety of interpersonal strategies to interact appropriately in situations ranging from large meetings to individual appointments both to internal and external audiences
    • Excellent writing and communications skills with a strong knowledge of English grammar
    • An ability to work collaboratively while supporting multiple projects
    • Proactive, creative problem solving approach with positive attitude and good sense of humor
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment
    • Understanding of Slate CRM preferred

    Additional requirements:

    • Position requires travel and varied working hours, including evenings and weekends
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to lift 30lbs
