Job Title: Facilities Assistant

Job Summary

We are searching for a motivated individual to join our team as a Facilities Assistant. As part of our facilities team, you will interact and interface with all museum departments and staff. You will assist with daily operations, ensure inventory availability, and perform routine and preventative maintenance, bathroom, and janitorial duties. Our ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, experience with facilities maintenance, and excellent time management skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, windows, mirrors, handrails, trash runs
• Inventory and replenishment of cleaning supplies
• Assist with event setups, provide assistance during and assist with breakdown and cleaning after events and activities
• Commute to and work at other Museum facilities
• Minor to moderate cleaning: carpet shampooing, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, windows, mirrors, light fixtures
• Empty trash cans throughout facilities: indoors, outdoors, offices
• Commute to and work at other Museum facilities
• Other duties as assigned or needed

Skills

• Experience with cleaning maintenance
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and use of products
• Use of basic hand tools
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Adaptable and versatile to changing circumstances and situations
• Project and time management efficiency
• Ability to prioritize duties, responsibilities and projects

Qualifications

• Ability to complete duties in time allotted
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and situations with little notice
• Ability to work under pressure, heavy workload and deadlines

Physical Requirements of the Job

• Perform duties under a variety of working conditions, indoors or out, in all weather conditions
• Ability to work on feet for extended periods of time
• Ability to push and navigate a cleaning cart safely
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
• Use of company vehicle. Must maintain a valid Driver’s License at all times.

Other Requirements

• Weekends required, and may include early mornings, late nights, as Museum operations and circumstances dictate.
• Frequent driving. Must commute to other sites.
• Ability to work varying shifts and days, including weekends and holidays, as required by museum operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
