Additionally, Architect may participate in an architectural internship or professional development program. May be working towards obtaining architecture license. Requires a bachelor's degree in architecture. Typically reports to a manager. The Architect work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     • You will execute design and analyses, utilizing advanced architectural software.
    • You will conduct site investigation field trips to project sites to collect all pertinent data and refine or develop project scope by inspection of existing conditions and through meetings with the sponsoring and using activities.
    • You will investigate or evaluate architectural issues and concerns in existing facilities, and develop reports that include recommendations and options for remediation or corrective measures.
    • You will plan and lead project design conferences/work sessions and on-site design charrettes/ Functional Analysis Concept Development (FACD) with stakeholders to determine project requirements and to develop concept designs.
    • You will identify areas of risk associated with design and construction and develop mitigation strategies or alternatives.
    • You will perform quality assurance review of drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and studies prepared by Architect/Engineer (A/E) design firms.

    1) Applying knowledge of architectural concepts, principles and practices to the design and construction of facilities;

    2) Providing technical recommendations/solutions to engineering problems encountered during the administration of construction projects ; and

    3) Performing cost estimates, feasibility studies and/or constructability reviews in the construction of facilities.

    EDUCATION

    Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
