Appraiser (Commercial Real Estate) conducts commercial real estate appraisals and property ratings to establish the market value generally used for investment guidance, lending, insurance, or other purposes. Follows standard processes for conducting and documenting on-site property inspections. Being an Appraiser (Commercial Real Estate) performs data collection and research on building permits, prior assessments, and relevant market and economic conditions that impact property value. Reviews building plans and specifications and investigates the quality of the construction, the overall condition of the property, and the surrounding location. Additionally, Appraiser (Commercial Real Estate) uses generally accepted appraisal practice concepts and practices to perform data analysis, develop valuation estimates, and write comprehensive reports and exhibits. Utilizes appraisal software tools and databases. Ensures that reports comply with required policies, formats, and regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. May require the Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) or similar designation. Requires a State Appraiser License. Typically reports to a manager. This individual will be responsible for originating, underwriting, and administering a portfolio of commercial real estate loans. The Bank concentrates in multifamily and mixed-use properties, although we will lend across all commercial product types. We do not make C&I or unsecured business loans. Strong candidates will have a demonstrated record of origination, deep knowledge of commercial real estate markets in the greater Boston metropolitan area, and good underwriting and valuation skills. We are interested in both senior and mid-level candidates.
Although this individual would have the opportunity to work from our Main Office in Hingham, members of our team work in-person, fully remotely and on a hybrid basis. This individual would have the opportunity to define the work environment that is most productive for them.
