APPRAISAL MANAGER leads a team of appraisers conducting assessments, valuations, and appraisal reviews of real estate, land, and other personal property to establish the market value generally used for lending, insurance, or other purposes. Establishes processes for conducting on-site inspections of property and data collection required to perform valuations. Being an APPRAISAL MANAGER follows generally accepted appraisal practice concepts and practices to perform data analysis, develop valuation estimates, and write comprehensive reports and exhibits. Ensures appraisal documentation and appraiser certification comply with all regulations. Additionally, APPRAISAL MANAGER performs appraisal quality reviews to ensure appropriate valuation and minimize risk. Creates process efficiencies with appraisal software tools and databases. May require a bachelor's degree. Has the Member of the Appraisal Institute (SRPA) or similar designation. Requires a State Appraiser License. Typically reports to a director. The APPRAISAL MANAGER manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an APPRAISAL MANAGER typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities include:

    • Prepare appraisals and valuations of equipment, trucks, and industrial assets
    • Review post sales and transactional data to prepare pricing estimates and sales ranges
    • Researching comparative data for evaluated assets
    • Coordinating research, valuation and condition information between bidadoo team and customers
    • Preparing quality appraisals with accurate asset information, including condition, pictures, video, specifications, features, documentation, etc.
    • Ability to evaluate condition of equipment, potential problem areas of used equipment, etc.
    • Perform peer and team review sessions to put together customer appraisals and proposals
    • Meet with bidadoo team and customers to evaluate and recommend remarketing strategies
    • Manage assets through the bidadoo Remarketing and auction sales process
    • Research and make valuation adjustments based on required deficiencies, problems, and required service and repairs
    • Research and track industry results to monitor industry pricing and trends
    • On occasion, performing field diligence and inspections, including traveling to client sites, inspecting and documenting assets, and discussing with customer personnel
    • Evaluating sales and performance data and feedback to internal and customer personnel
    • Reviewing other marketplaces for potential asset purchase
    • Research industries and economic trends affecting value
    • Have a comprehensive knowledge of new and used heavy equipment sales in the areas of construction, trucks / transportation, material handling, manufacturing, etc.
    • Establish strong, honest, positive, long-term relationships with bidadoo team and customers

    Background and Qualifications include:

    • At least 3 years of proven experience in the construction, trucks, and industrial asset market
    • Prior experience performing maintenance, managing a service department, and/or operating equipment preferred
    • Ability to work spreadsheets and other office technologies
    • Ability to travel to various states within the US and Canada for projects
    • Diligence and attention to equipment and condition details
    • Strong research, pricing, and analytical skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills to interface internal and customer teams
    • Ability to work independently and efficiently with a focus on completing projects in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy
    • Proactive attitude to build internal and external relationships
    • Very strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
    • Have excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
    • Experience with buying and/or selling over the internet would be beneficial
    • Be an advocate for the company and our customers, and a passion for equipment
    • Self motivated with skills and attitude to excel in an entrepreneurial environment
