    SUMMARY:

    Under minimal supervision, this position oversees the learning management system (LMS) operations for the College. Duties include: managing the functionality and storage requirements of the LMS; monitoring system updates and upgrades; and troubleshooting with faculty and staff to fix technical issues inside the LMS.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manages and administers the daily operations of the learning management system; communicates with LMS hosting administrators and Student Information System administrators.
    • Oversees system functionality by managing all user roles, courses, and third-party software integrations; oversees system storage requirements; and maintains efficient storage levels on the LMS.
    • Identifies, analyzes, and remedies technical errors in the system.
    • Communicates known matters to end-users.
    • Applies knowledge of LMS software and systems; fulfills analytics requests related to the LMS.
    • Publishes College-wide information to the LMS.
    • Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's degree in a technical field; (3) years of related work experience in programming languages such as Node JS and Python; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
    • Knowledge of current technology as it applies to LMS software and systems.
    • Knowledge of database administration.
    • Knowledge of role management policies as well as user/course data within Student Information Systems.
    • Knowledge of CMS.
    • Skill in organizing and solving technical problems.
    • Skill in delivering customer service.
    • Skill in reading and writing queries using the SQL language and in programming with Node JS and Python languages.
    • Skill in working with Microsoft Office and Windows based applications
    • Ability to pay attention to detail, meet deadlines, multi-task, shift focus in a fast-paced environment, be self-motivated, and work independently.
    • Ability to navigate through database systems such as Microsoft SQL, PL-SQL, T-SQL, and No-SQL.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
