At MMT-CATHTIP, our objective is to develop excellence in automation, machine design, material handling, and custom tooling. The Applications Technician will be responsible for post–production machine testing, onsite installations, and new applications testing. Additional responsibilities include tooling development, customer technical support, and manual writing. The Applications Technician serves both internal and external customers, ensuring that our machines meet specifications and are delivered to the customer in a thorough and professional manner.
JOB DUTIES
Essential Job Functions:

• Diagnosing/testing machines for application readiness and quality
• Machine installation and training at customer facility. (Domestic and Int’l travel)
• Report machine recommendations to fulfill Sales quotes, based on customer requirements
• Develop tooling for customer orders of standard machines, based on material specs
• Update technical documents for accurate records of machines
• Act as technical support resource for Customer Service and Contract Service departments
• Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments
• Develops and maintains written process reports, defining the parameters, tooling, and other needs customers will reference in running the machine
• Perform all other duties as needed to assist the company in attaining its objectives

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position may require lifting, squatting, moving, in addition to use of fine motor skills for the assembly of various machine parts and machinery.
SKILLS

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as needed in interactions with customers and MMT-CATHTIP team members

• Advanced computer skills – MS Office & Windows, CAD knowledge (i.e. AutoCad, Inventor, Pro-E, SolidWorks)
• Able to read and interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical assembly drawings and technical documentation
• MRP/ERP preferred,
• Analytical thinking and systematic approach to problem solving
• Able to function in a dynamic, fast paced, environment

QUALIFICATIONS
We are considering a combination of work experience and education to include the following:

• Bachelors in Engineering (Mech, Elec, or Aero) with 0-3 years experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position will require the ability to work under pressing conditions with a professional and responsive demeanor. Must have a CAN DO attitude to drive projects through to completion, displaying the ability to obtain results through an influential demeanor. In addition, the position requires:

• Position requires moderate travel to customer sites with varying work environments
• Valid U.S. Passport is required for travel
• Work in varying environments and conditions, primarily in a controlled environment
