Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, an international law firm, is actively recruiting for an Applications Engineer. This role takes responsibility for the evaluation, selection, acquisition, implementation, maintenance, and support of the firm’s Enterprise Systems applications platforms. Works closely with each of the Enterprise Systems team members, and other IT team members to ensure the ongoing viability, performance, and success of all Enterprise Systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Oversees the assessment of current operating technologies to support the firm’s legal practices and business operations. Works closely with the other IT and user-advocacy groups to identify, support, and implement industry-leading systems which enhance the firm’s service to clients and the firm’s operation overall.
2. Serves as a team member to other members of Enterprise Systems and IT to acquire, design, and develop solutions and implementation plans based on business objectives, priorities, user requirements, and technology capabilities.
3. Serves as technical resource for Enterprise Systems projects both new and/or operational. Assists in defining systems strategy, frameworks, architecture, and standards for all components.
4. Supports the firm’s application stack and workstation image, including initial development/configuration, integration, delivery, and security, preferably in a device agnostic and mobile-enabled manner.
5. Assists with design, support, and evolution of the platforms used to reliably and efficiently deliver Enterprise Systems to end users, including System Center Configuration Manager, VMware Horizon, and various other legal software applications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of job related experience required, preferably in a law firm, professional services, or other client relationship-based organization. Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Travel may be required. Availability and willingness to work hours as needed to meet critical deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
