Applications Programming Manager manages teams and implements policies and procedures related to the design, analysis, testing, coding, and implementation of applications. Enhances operations by establishing metrics, analyzing processes, and implementing standard methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. Being an Applications Programming Manager reviews development proposals, projects, timelines, resources, and costs. Leads feedback processes for peer reviews, code reviews, and design reviews. Additionally, Applications Programming Manager establishes a performance culture by incorporating individual and team coaching and mentoring to achieve excellence. May manage outsourcing budgets, vendors, or off-shore resources. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Applications Programming Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Applications Programming Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Development and configuration of SAP and custom applications using programming, scripting, and database languages, including SAP ABAP programs, function modules, SAP Classes, SAP Scripts, Smartforms, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, data dictionary objects, IDOCs and SPRO for configuration.
- Supporting application testing, deployment, maintenance, and enhancement activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and programming application enhancements.
- Analyzing detailed business/functional/technical requirements and specifications for the applications as input to application design and programming.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting complex and multi-dimensional problems.
- Developing and implementing new products, processes, standards and/or operational plans, and communicating those plans to Senior Management.
- Providing cross-functional support to the Business Intelligence team for integration with SAP for data collection and reporting
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Specifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, and/or Business or equivalent combination of education and experience. MAS preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: SAP ABAP Certification
