Applications Programming Manager manages teams and implements policies and procedures related to the design, analysis, testing, coding, and implementation of applications. Enhances operations by establishing metrics, analyzing processes, and implementing standard methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. Being an Applications Programming Manager reviews development proposals, projects, timelines, resources, and costs. Leads feedback processes for peer reviews, code reviews, and design reviews. Additionally, Applications Programming Manager establishes a performance culture by incorporating individual and team coaching and mentoring to achieve excellence. May manage outsourcing budgets, vendors, or off-shore resources. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Applications Programming Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Applications Programming Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsible for the design, development, verification, integration, improvement, debug, maintenance, deployment and documentation of BIOS firmware source code. Participate in all phases of firmware development, understand how DSCG operates, and understand how solutions will be utilized to support DSCG activities and Micron's customers. Work with other Micron engineers and technicians from groups including Production Engineering, Systems Integration, Test, QA, SpecTek, and RMA and communicate with external customers. Work with FAE and external customers to design firmware for use with Micron products including consulting, design and documentation of new BIOS source code to release to the customer. Consult with DRAM/CXL/HBM teams to increase debug capability and functions in BIOS.

    Must have a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 36 months of experience in the job offered or in an Applications Engineer-related occupation.
