May manage outsourcing budgets, vendors, or off-shore resources. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Applications Programming Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Applications Programming Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Summary: The Applications Engineering Manager oversees an engineering team that develops new products for the amusement industry. This individual plays a key role in sales support, R&D, and project engineering management.


    Responsibilities

    The Applications Engineering Manager is responsible for the management of three key areas of amusement ride development:

    • Sales support
      1. Management of sales team support with including developing ride layouts and creating conceptual renderings. When requested, work with the structural engineers to create foundation loads. Act as the main point of contact for supporting project proposals.
    • Research and Development
      1. Management of the development of new amusement rides and amusement ride elements. Lead and drive innovation initiatives to develop cutting edge new products that deliver and exceptional experience for the end customer.
    • Project Engineering
      1. Manage a team of project engineers who provide technical oversight for both sold order and R&D projects. The team ensures compliance with industry and customer requirements. Monitors projects to budget and schedule constraints.

    Qualifications

    • B.S. or M.S. degree in engineering discipline.
    • Proven experience in R&D management, with a track record of successfully bringing products from concept to market.
    • Excellent project management abilities, including resource allocation, budgeting, and timeline management.
    • In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, design methodologies, and the product development life cycle.
    • Effective communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
    • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
    • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities to address challenges and optimize R&D processes.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Professional Engineering license.
    • Experience in the amusement industry.
    • Design experience in multiple-disciplinary projects, coordinating with mechanical, structural, and electrical engineering processes.
