    Using your extensive knowledge of the nuclear security enterprise (NSE) and associated Pantex software and combining your advanced knowledge of software development, software architecture, and complex data system integration, principals and theories to lead a multi-facet technical discipline team to execute full product life-cycle activities for the next generation of tools and products to support the goals of the nuclear security enterprise in support of manufacturing and design operations.

    Job Specific Responsibilities:


    Working with cross-site Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) experts to develop a strategic vision that supports the NSE’s overarching nuclear weapon design and manufacturing goals. Directing a team of software engineers to develop software to support the next generation operations for the NSE. Responsible for consolidation of like functions across multiple sites to promote efficient deployment and consolidation of IT assets and resources across business organizations and sites. Applies the appropriate management oversight to IT system development that support the successful completion of the NNSA mission for CNS.

    Employs the ITSM/ITIL framework and the capabilities of ServiceNow to support all aspects of the IT Service Lifecycle, including support for the Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes – along with IT Service Continuity Management to assure efficient and effective IT Operations Management. Utilizes ITIL based metrics and Service Level Agreements to establish service excellence through system reliability and effective Incident and Problem management. Works closely with Cyber Security to ensure controls are in place for the protection of IT assets.
    Primary duty is management of a recognized department or subdivision thereof, and includes duties, such as: interviewing, selecting, and training employees; setting and adjusting pay and work hours; setting performance goals and evaluating progress toward those goals, recognizing or coaching employee performance as warranted; maintaining production or sales records; appraising employee productivity and grievances; disciplining employees, planning and apportioning work among employees.

    Customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more employees (meaning two full-time employees or their equivalent). May be asked to provide managerial and technical support (as direct contributor) for both applications and personnel within organizational area of responsibility.

    Must have the authority to hire or fire other employees or participate in that process by making suggestions and recommendations thereto, which are given particular weight, meaning they must be made with reasonable degree of frequency, and then relied upon in the decision making process.

    Minimum Job Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience. Minimum 5 years of relevant supervisory/management experience.

    Preferred Job Requirements

    • Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering, Computer Science, Management, or Physical Science discipline plus ten (10) or more years of relevant professional experience. MS or MBA preferred.
    • Demonstrated leadership of various IT disciplines, including Software Development, Data Management, IT Project Management, and Customer Support.
    • Five (5) years direct management experience and/or leading (team lead / technical lead) IT organizational elements that are customer focused.
    • Experience in the oversight of designing, maintaining, and implementing multi-site systems.
    • Desired skills are an ITIL V3 Foundation certification, experience with system consolidation efforts, and strong technical understanding of a broad spectrum of Information Technologies, as it relates to IT Service Development, Deployment, and Support.

    Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

    Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
