SENIOR ENTERPRISE APPLICATIONS PROGRAMMER (2 POSITIONS)

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and/or equivalent education and experience.
    • Ten years of experience developing and maintaining applications utilizing Ellucian Banner in a University Environment.
    • Ability to analyze, understand and translate business requirements to technical design.
    • Demonstrable experience with Ellucian Banner, Evision's Argos, Automic, and Oracle SQL
    Preferred Qualifications:

    A combination of extensive experience and education as listed below are highly desirable.

    • Master's degree in computer science or information technology from an accredited college or university.
    • Direct experience in the technical areas of systems administration, applications development, database administration, network operations, and data center operations.
    • Knowledge and understanding of university operations and experience working in a higher education environment.
    • Knowledge of national and industry offerings and trends pertaining to design, development, and support of an enterprise infrastructure.
    • Knowledge of general IT operations including asset management, configuration management, incident management, and change management.
    Reporting to the Associate Director for Enterprise Applications, the Senior Enterprise Applications Programmer provides leadership and guidance to other members of the team within the Information Technology Services (ITS) area. Responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and operation, and improvement of the university's administrative ERP applications which includes the suite of Ellucian Banner products, Degree Works, reporting and business intelligence tools, and numerous other support systems that interact and interface to these data sources.

    Routine Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Works with stakeholders to support the university through the efficient and effective use of administrative software applications.
    • Works in collaboration with members of the ITS Leadership Team in the development and deployment of secured and high availability information systems to mitigate risks, maintain continuity of operations, and safeguard the university's information assets.
    • Works closely with vendors to stay abreast of changes to our existing application base as well as monitoring the market for new products and trends that would benefit the university.
    • Reviews software updates for ERP applications as necessary.
    • Monitors and institutes best practices in the area of application security to safeguard and ensure the integrity of university data sources.
    • Mentors and provides leadership to the Enterprise Applications Team.
    • Involved in day-to-day operations of the ERP area including the evaluation, and review of service requests.
    • ITS is a "hands-on" environment and as such the Senior Enterprise Applications Programmer will be expected to assist as necessary with day-to-day activities including report creation, analysis and design, application support, etc.
