Additionally, Applications Programmer produces application documentation, including process and data flow diagrams. Provides support for implementing, enhancing, integrating, and maintaining applications. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a project leader or manager. The Applications Programmer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. - Prepare CNC programs as per drawings/instructions using Mastercam, Solidworks and Autocad. Able to generate CNC programs to support new products/tooling projects.
- Develop fixtures and tooling for hand and machine operations.
- Write detailed shop instructions, including drafting drawings and layouts as needed for production and assembly.
- Perform first time set-up on parts and troubleshoot as needed.
- Assist estimator on quotations for complex parts or one-of-a-kind orders.
- Confer with manufacturing, engineering, programmers, estimators and other personnel to resolve machining and programming issues.
- Set-up and operate CNC machines with no supervision and be able to help train or instruct others on set-ups.
- Identify, resolve and/or communicate job or machine problems. Maintain safe and clean work area.
