Applications Development Director directs all activities and develops policies and procedures related to the design, analysis, testing, coding, and implementation of applications. Enhances operations by establishing metrics, analyzing processes, and implementing standard methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. Being an Applications Development Director oversees review of development proposals, projects, timelines, resources, and costs. Develops feedback processes for peer reviews, code reviews, and design reviews. Additionally, Applications Development Director establishes a performance culture by incorporating individual and team coaching and mentoring to achieve excellence. May develop and manage outsourcing budgets, vendor relationships, or off-shore resources. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Applications Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Applications Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Duties: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Implement DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deploy Automation process across functional area. Analyze and optimize existing systems. Design infrastructure flows based on current situation and analyzed needs. Research future industry trends. Produce reports and metrics related to application and technology state and trends. Participate in application releases, from development, testing and deployment into production. Engage in post-implementation analysis to ensure successful system design and functionality. Coordinate new solutions for deployments. Facilitate audit and system compliance. Write user guides related to new solutions. Responsible for platform strategy and domain roadmaps. Perform technical decision making, follow agile delivery practices and embrace DevOps, cloud services, infrastructure-as-code, and automated continuous delivery pipelines. Monitor and maintain overall health and performance of production, test and development servers using Appdynamics and Kibana Log analysis. Troubleshoot environment and system configuration issues for test and development environments and provide production environment fixes to production support team. Conduct environment set up for development (DEV), system testing (ST) and user acceptance testing (UAT) environments for major quarterly deployments by client. Build and deploy code to develop and test application servers daily and revert changes if there are issues with code and provide error to development team. Recover missing scripts. Resolve server related issues and patching of servers with latest OS version. Upgrade existing software to newer version whenever client requests upgrade and assess configuration changes and team efforts required for upgrade. Write shell scripts for automating jobs, continuous innovation and automation of daily tasks. Create new source code generics for release on Codecloud. Creating release, test and development branches on GIT Bitbucket for deployment. Prepare application deployment packages, review same with client and release management team for patch releases. Build and deploy code on mock environment before project release and verify database changes on production mock database environment to ensure that production deployment is clean. Create jobs on Jenkins tool to trigger build scripts, monitor logs and build status from browser. Monitor security vulnerabilities during development process using App Scan tool. Analyze and resolve outage caused in production. Analyze mapping of data and services between Legacy and new Microservices(mS) platform and resolve defects and provide root cause (RC) of defects. Performing software configuration management (SCM) audits for deployment for moving code from test environment to production. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

    Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Applied Computer Science or related field and 5 years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience as an Applications Developer, SrDevOps-Lead or related position involving DevOps, DevSecOps, and Cloud application development. Five (5) years of experience must include: Technical design planning and management; DevOps, DevSecOps, Cloud setup, Environment setup, Automation, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment; Release lifecycle management (RLM), Change management, Defect tracking, Change Advisory Board (CAB) process, and Health checks; Component Vulnerability Management, Security management, and Code quality analysis; Development (DEV), system testing (ST) and user acceptance testing (UAT); Codecloud and Sonarqube; Jenkins, Openshift, Helm, and Yaml script; Blackduck, Maven, Docker and Tomcat; Appdynamics and Kibana Log analysis; Agile methodologies; and Oracle.
