Annuities Retention Specialist coordinates with service representatives and clients to assist with retaining the client's annuity business. Provides knowledge and expertise to clients in order to meet their financial goals and to clearly understand various options that are available with annuities. Being an Annuities Retention Specialist reviews surrender requests and contacts clients to re-engage and identify opportunities for additional sales. Makes recommendations to product line management to improve service and design of products that encourage client retention. Additionally, Annuities Retention Specialist requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Annuities Retention Specialist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     Job Description
    The Student-Athlete Retention Specialist provides support to student-athletes to promote retention and academic success. The position collaborates with faculty, coaches, and staff to identify students who may be in need of extra support and engages with the students in a variety of retention activities to ensure progression toward achieving academic success. The position facilitates relationships and outreach efforts with at-risk student-athletes, many identified through the early alert system, and connects them with appropriate support and resources (i.e., Faculty, Advisors, Counselors, and other staff from support areas such as Financial Aid and Disability Services).

    Required Qualifications
    • Four-year degree required in education, social work, business, or related social science disciplines.
    • Interpersonal skills sufficient to provide prompt, welcoming, courteous, and accurate information to stakeholders in person, on the phone, and through email and other written correspondence.
    • Communications skills sufficient to speaking, reading, and writing English and the ability to develop, synthesize and present information to individuals and groups
    • Ability to work closely with a diverse population of students to develop relationships characterized by open communication to help students progress from enrollment to completion.
    • Ability to understand and explain the educational and academic requirements necessary to be prepared for and complete college level work.
    • Physical Demands sufficient to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs., occasionally stand for long periods of time, be able to sit for long periods of time, manual dexterity required for frequent keying.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Two years of Student Services experience or related experience working with underrepresented populations.
    • Knowledge and skill in specialized terminology and admissions terminology sufficient to lead people through the prospective, admitted, and enrolling student life cycle stages and respond to questions from customers.
    • Knowledge of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system and program offerings
    • Knowledge of RCTC, including policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Experience working with diverse clientele.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the cycle of poverty, working with first generation college students, and students with disabilities.
    • Knowledge and appropriate use of software systems, including, but not limited to: Integrated Statewide Reporting System (ISRS), ImageNow, Microsoft office suite
    • Knowledge of community organizations and leaders serving underrepresented populations
