Annuities Representative (New Business) is responsible for the annuities application process. Assists applicants and checks forms for completeness and accuracy. Being an Annuities Representative (New Business) ensures compliance with all regulations and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations which pertain to annuities applications. Reviews all fund transfers such as tax-free fund transfers, direct transfers and direct rollovers for completeness and compliance. Additionally, Annuities Representative (New Business) is responsible for responding to inquiries from clients, agents, financial institutions and internal departments. May require a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Requires National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) license. The Annuities Representative (New Business) works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.     What You’ll Do
    BDR will proactively engage potential and underserved customers, build relationships, and drive revenue growth. Through effective lead generation, developing reassigned accounts, and providing greater customer service, this role is instrumental in acquiring new customers, expanding existing relationships, and increasing overall sales and gross margin. BDR will encourage customers to visit their local branch, meet our teams, and see the inventory, customer solutions and training available to them. This role will also be responsible for the current inside sales core functions for these customers, including order writing, special orders, quotes, sales support, and bid follow-up.
    Responsibilities:
    • Proactively hunt for new accounts. Identify potential customers and engage them to drive new business.
    • Reengage customers who have previously purchased but stopped. Develop strategies to revive and strengthen relationships with lapsed customers.
    • Manage leads effectively, ensuring a systematic approach to engagement.
    • Prioritize and strategize lead assignments for maximum impact.
    • Once engaged, reassign leads back to the branch or Outside Sales Representative (OSR) team.
    • Ensure seamless transition and follow-up for continued customer support.
    • Proactively engage potential and underserved customers.
    • Build and nurture relationships to foster long-term partnerships.
    • Encourage customers to visit local branches for in-person engagement.
    • Showcase inventory, customer solutions, and training to enhance the customer's understanding and connection.
    • Manage current inside sales core functions for assigned customers such as Handle order writing, special orders, quotes, sales support, and bid follow-up.
    Required for Success
    • Prospect identification and research: Business development representatives need to identify and research potential clients or business opportunities to pursue.
    • Proficient and comfortable in cold calling B2B customers
    • Networking and relationship-building: Establishing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and partners is essential for generating leads and fostering business growth.
    • Effective communication: Strong communication skills are necessary to articulate value propositions, negotiate deals, and build rapport with potential clients.
    • Strategic thinking: Business development representatives must think strategically about market trends, competitive landscape, and business opportunities to identify new avenues for growth.
    • Sales skills: While not necessarily closing deals, business development reps should possess basic sales skills to qualify leads, handle objections, and advance opportunities through the sales funnel.
    • Adaptability: Business development roles often require flexibility to pivot strategies, adjust to changing market dynamics, and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
    • Goal-oriented mindset: Setting and achieving targets for lead generation, pipeline growth, and revenue generation is crucial for success in business development roles.
