Job Summary
The department of University Advancement at Columbus State University is seeking applicants for the role of Gifts Processor & University Stewardship Coordinator. This position is responsible for receiving, coding, entering, and receipting gifts and other non-gift revenue to the CSU Foundation, CSU Alumni Association and the Athletic Fund. Additionally, processes the deposits for Foundation Properties, Inc. and manages all procedures relating to gifts in the donor database (Raiser's Edge) including cash and stock gifts, recurring gifts, matching gifts, and honor/memorial gifts. This position works closely with the Database Manager and Prospect Research Analyst to ensure that donor records have been updated for timely running of receipts and acknowledgements and works under the direction of the Director of Advancement Services and University Stewardship.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for accurately receiving and entering off-line and on-line gifts and non-gift revenue (as necessary) in the donor database (Raiser's Edge) daily.
- Work closely with the University Advancement Database Manager and Prospect Research Analysist to ensure donor records are updated.
- Prepare gift batches according to University Advancement procedures.
- Import NetCommunity event registrations, donations, and related income into the donor database.
- Import everydayhero or other crowdfunding donations into the donor database.
- Perform deposits for each of the four CSU Foundation(s).
- Perform monthly audits to ensure accuracy in data entry.
- Prepare gift receipts and acknowledgements; track and mail honor/memorial acknowledgements.
- Produce/mail monthly pledge reminders.
- Manage recurring gifts, including Faculty/Staff payroll gifts.
- Proactively pursue matching gifts; resolve common questions and issues related to gifts, pledges and funds.
- Remain current on best practices for gift handling including guidelines and standards set forth by the IRS, CASE, and other associations.
- Learn and remain current on software features and departmental procedures of the database.
- Serve as back-up for the University Advancement Database Manager and Prospect Research Analyst position.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Required qualifications include an Associate's degree or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred) from an accredited university; two years of office related experience; the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work well with others; experience working with a complex relational database, Rasier's Edge, non-profit organizations, and NetCommunity is preferred.
The successful candidate must possess an understanding of relational databases and charitable giving best practices; an understanding of electronic and business banking and IRS guidelines on chartiable giving; an understanding of CASE guidelines on charitable giving and reporting; possess excellent data entry skills, including speed and accuracy; a passion for data integrity, including strong attention to detail; a commitment to data and financial information security and confidentiality; critical thinking skills and strong organizational skills; demonstrated experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office; and possess excellent oral & written communication skills.
Proposed Salary
The hiring range for this position is $34,868 - $37,852 and includes full benefits.
Conditions of Employment
Successful completion of a criminal background investigation and legal authorization to work in the US prior to employment is required.
