Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.     We are an AAHA-accredited 2-doctor practice in the suburbs of Birmingham, focusing on individualized medicine for canine and feline patients as well as some exotic species. We provide Primary Care, Surgery and Dentistry services and have a full complement of diagnostic tools.

    Our hours are Monday through Friday 7am - 6pm, Saturdays 7am - 12pm, closed Sundays.

    About the Role

    As Veterinary Assistant, you will help create and maintain a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our patients and clients. Duties will include:

    • Compassionate patient care
    • Client education and care
    • Venipuncture and catheter placement
    • Radiology and diagnostics
    • Lab sample collection and processing
    • Surgical preparation and assisting
    • Dentistry
    • Medication preparation and administration
    • Safe and effective patient handling and restraint
    • Medical recordkeeping
