Anesthesia Technician assists Anesthesiologist by setting-up equipment and preparing medications. Orders, stocks, tests, and maintains anesthesia supplies, medications, and equipment. Being an Anesthesia Technician washes and sterilizes re-usable equipment and reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel. Performs safety checks on anesthesia equipment and assists the Anesthesiologist as needed. Additionally, Anesthesia Technician may also be required to complete Anesthesia Technician trainee program. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Anesthesia Technician works under moderate supervision.     Job Summary and Qualifications


    The Anesthesia Technician provides support services for the Anesthesiologist, Registered Nurses and other medical staff working on the anesthesia team. The commitment to service, safety and professionalism is critical to achieving the best experience for our patients.     What You Will Do In This Role:


    • You will set up and maintain anesthesia machine and equipment, pressure lines, gas cylinders, organize supplies, applying principles of asepsis and other appropriate guidelines under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
    • You will ensure minimal delays in surgical schedule as a result of transport, room turnover or equipment management.
    • You will assist in patient transfer to and from bed and transport devices using effective body mechanics and patient safety assistive devices such as roller boards, slide boards, gait belt and lift sheet.


    What Qualifications You Will Need:


    • BLS certification required and maintained.
    • Must be registered with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician within 90 days of hire, since restocking anesthesia carts with medication.
    • 6 months to 1 year in a health care setting preferred.
    • Experience in respiratory or surgical setting preferred.
