Anesthesia Technician assists Anesthesiologist by setting-up equipment and preparing medications. Orders, stocks, tests, and maintains anesthesia supplies, medications, and equipment. Being an Anesthesia Technician washes and sterilizes re-usable equipment and reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel. Performs safety checks on anesthesia equipment and assists the Anesthesiologist as needed. Additionally, Anesthesia Technician may also be required to complete Anesthesia Technician trainee program. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Anesthesia Technician works under moderate supervision. Overview
U.S. Anesthesia Partners (USAP) - Texas Central is seeking a full-time Anesthesia Technician to work at Northwest Hills Surgical Hospital in Austin, Texas. This is a non-exempt, daytime hour position with a schedule of 5:30am – 2:00pm.
Job Highlights
Adhere to all USAP time and attendance policies.
- Arterial line and Central Line placement utilizing appropriate sterile technique
- Assist the physicians and CRNA's with spinal instrumentation and neurosurgical anesthesia care
- Pro-actively anticipate anesthesia patient care needs for USAP MD's and CRNA's
- Maintain professional conduct and behavior at all times.
- Be able to order and maintain daily inventory of supplies necessary for anesthesia patient care
- Able to rotate and provide anesthesia support to other USAP anesthesia sites as needed
- Able to troubleshoot all technical aspects of the anesthesia machines, technical equipment, andanesthesia gases
- Appropriately evaluate and obtain new anesthesia equipment and be able to in-service other anesthesia techs, MD's and CRNA's as needed
- Responsible for maintaining all anesthesia department documentation standards required for JACHO certification
- Maintain all anesthesia related infection control policies and related documentation, including annual competency of endoscopic scope cleaning and disinfection procedures
- Be able to complete all time and attendance documentation required for USAP anesthesia technician employees
- Other duties as assigned and designated by the USAP site Chief MD and Chief CRNA
