Ambulatory Services Director directs the staff and programs of the ambulatory services department. Oversees, administers, and coordinates all activities and operations of the ambulatory services for the health care facility, including outpatient clinics, outpatient surgery, and urgent care centers. Being an Ambulatory Services Director develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for ambulatory services and programs. Maintains working relationships with community agencies. Additionally, Ambulatory Services Director ensures non-emergency care clinics operate within budget and in accordance with performance standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Ambulatory Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Averaging over 500 procedures per month, this 5 OR Outpatient Perioperative program is very busy. This busy department and it’s 50 FTEs has been recognized as high performing in a large number of procedures. This has been possible through an alignment of tenured and experienced staff, a well-tenured and dedicated Surgical Services Nurse Director, and a labor environment that employs a shared governance model to optimize performance and outcomes simultaneously.

    Reporting to the RN Administrative Nurse Director of Perioperative Services, the Ambulatory Surgical Services Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, and to a growing degree, the strategic direction of the Same-Day Surgery Unit and Procedures. This position will work in collaboration with a tenured and efficient CPAN Certified Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse, and a CNOR Inpatient RN Manager to manage a large case load.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented Outpatient OR Leader with experience leading clinical teams, to develop administrative management skills as well. The Ambulatory Surgical Services Nursing Manager will lead operations for a 5 OR unit that offers a diverse range of surgical procedures, from Ortho and Ophthalmology, to Total Joint and ENT. Working in the unit is a fantastic team of Scrub and Circulating RNs, who have fast-paced outpatient experience.
