Ambulatory Services Director directs the staff and programs of the ambulatory services department. Oversees, administers, and coordinates all activities and operations of the ambulatory services for the health care facility, including outpatient clinics, outpatient surgery, and urgent care centers. Being an Ambulatory Services Director develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for ambulatory services and programs. Maintains working relationships with community agencies. Additionally, Ambulatory Services Director ensures non-emergency care clinics operate within budget and in accordance with performance standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. The Psychiatrist Medical Director - Ambulatory is responsible for the clinical and medical oversight as well as the quality of care across all Ambulatory Programs within Beth Israel Lahey Health Behavioral Services. Oversees medical operations, including providing direct patient care, professional support to medical and clinical staff, and general leadership regarding policies, laws, and regulations. Physician should demonstrate accomplishment in a community-based, culturally diverse, mission driven behavioral healthcare setting is essential. They should be a visionary change agent who is mission driven and demonstrates analytical and strategic skills. The Medical Director is expected to be an inspirational and creative leader who is committed to excellence, and has high regard for nurse practitioners, advance practitioners/RN, nurses and support staff. They should be fair minded, value diversity of opinion and be comfortable sharing power and decision making in order to achieve common ground. Directly reports to Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO). Oversees all aspects of clinical and medical operations of 5 Behavioral Health Outpatient clinics and outreach sites (Beverly, Haverhill, Lawrence, Salem and Gloucester) in dyad with the Vice President of Ambulatory and Community Based Services. Leads regularly scheduled meetings with all Ambulatory Division medical staff. Attends Ambulatory divisional staff meetings regularly. A qualified candidate must have MD designation and be a Board-Certified Psychiatrist. Suboxone X-number required. At least 5 years’ experience in the Ambulatory or Community setting is preferred. Expertise in risk assessment, management, and documentation is necessary for success in the position.
