Ambulatory Services Director directs the staff and programs of the ambulatory services department. Oversees, administers, and coordinates all activities and operations of the ambulatory services for the health care facility, including outpatient clinics, outpatient surgery, and urgent care centers. Being an Ambulatory Services Director develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for ambulatory services and programs. Maintains working relationships with community agencies. Additionally, Ambulatory Services Director ensures non-emergency care clinics operate within budget and in accordance with performance standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Ambulatory Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Greets all patients and non-patients. Pre-registers and registers patients presenting for appointments. Conducts patient/guarantor interviews, explains hospital policies, financial responsibilities and patient's bill of rights. Facilitates the patient admission flow, including activities such as: patient identification, identification of accurate demographic information, and financial data retrieval of required signatures and documents. Enters the financial and admissions data into the hospital information computer systems. Facilitates appropriate exam specific paperwork to patient for completion and reviews paperwork prior to processing patient.

    Required qualifications:

    • 1 year' Experience in Hospital Business Office, Hospital Admitting, or medical office setting in related position

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Coursework/Training: College or Vocational education

    • Insurance experience in billing, verification or eligibility determination

    • Experience in providing customer service
