Ambulatory Services Director directs the staff and programs of the ambulatory services department. Primary Function
This role is responsible for developing organization-wide growth strategies related to ambulatory care within the organization. They will align with system and market leadership to define, create, and prioritize ambulatory care efforts to achieve goals of growth and financial results. This role is accountable for the financial and operational performance of ambulatory care and imaging through direct oversight and/or closely managed partnerships and ventures.
Essential Functions
Develops, implements, and measures strategies for system volume growth related to ambulatory care
Assess markets for opportunities to develop de novo centers, acquire existing centers, or convert hospital-based outpatient departments to free-standing centers
Collaborate with finance and strategy partners to build strategic plan and provide insight on business case to achieve the organization's goals in the ambulatory care functions
Develops and directs short and long-term system-wide plans that translate strategic goals into specific, actionable steps to improve financial and operations performance of ambulatory care centers
Serve on various JV boards and operations structures with third parties and physicians
Ensures there are established system productivity benchmarks, and monitors industry trends to ensure services and strategies contribute to the highest quality and patient experience levels
Conducts and directs business and financial feasibility studies for joint ventures and other strategic initiatives and direct such projects and initiatives to completion
Formulates and implements effective business strategies and operational plans to ensure market growth and positioning
Relationship management with both internal and external stakeholders to support identification of new ambulatory business opportunities
Required Minimum Education: Bachelors in Healthcare Administration or related field, Masters preferred
Minimum Years and Type of Experience: 15 years of healthcare experience including ambulatory care setting, 10 years of progressive management-level experience
