Ambulatory Services Director directs the staff and programs of the ambulatory services department. Oversees, administers, and coordinates all activities and operations of the ambulatory services for the health care facility, including outpatient clinics, outpatient surgery, and urgent care centers. Being an Ambulatory Services Director develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for ambulatory services and programs. Maintains working relationships with community agencies. Additionally, Ambulatory Services Director ensures non-emergency care clinics operate within budget and in accordance with performance standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Ambulatory Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Natchez Trace Youth Academy is a highly-structured 115-bed cognitive behavioral program serving adolescent males aged 10-17. Our interdisciplinary staff helps residents refocus their thinking patterns in order to improve their actions/behavior.     Natchez Trace Youth Academy is seeking a dynamic and talented DIrector of Residential Services to oversee the full-range of the needs of our facility. We look for caring, energetic people who take pride in the quality of instruction and dedication in their work.This position provides programmatic leadership via all elements of the therapeutic program with commitment to regulatory standards and Service Excellence standards. Works in association with the CEO.

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Role models Service Excellance standards, NTYA Mission Statement, Core Values and Vision Statement at all times.
    • Organizes therapeutic recreational activities independently and in conjunction with the Recreational/Activities Therapists. Ensures that the dorm activities schedule is updated on a regular basis and that the schedule is being followed by dorm staff to ensure regular, ongoing activities are available to students impartially.
    • Facilitates communication processes to ensure that all staff have limited barriers to communication. Attends director meetings, team shift briefings, treatment team weekly meetings and other meetings as appropriate on a regular basis to ensure pertinent and effective communication occurs.
    • Conducts rounding (15-minute checks) in accordance with UHS requirements and documents on appropriate form. Maintains constant observance of the 15-minute checks and reports issues as appropriate.
    • Works with the Scheduling Coordinator and other assigned personnel, responsible to ensure that ratios are maintained for optimal safety and regulatory compliance. Assists in reviewing/approving timesheets and/or PTO requests for direct care staff.
    • Exercises fiduciary responsibility towards overtime and appropriate use of FTEs in accordance with budgetary goals.
    • Co-chairs the Restraint Reduction Committee and works with students to analyze causes within the student culture and ways to reduce restraints.
    • Analyzes pertinent data to include Patient Satisfaction Reports, Clinical Dashboard and restraint data that impacts service delivery within the culture and makes decisions that improves this process accordingly.
    • Understands and enforces safety/risk mitigation as regards to contraband, potential sources of injury to staff/students, and understands the process for reporting injuries.
    • Maintains flexibility to inspect the dorms, patients and staff at various times to include weekends and third shift.
    • Works interdepartmentally to help ensure communication flows effectively. Informs Human Resources of recruiting/retention needs and participates in HR roundtables, monthly recruiting/retention calls with corporate, and serves to help enforce retention goals.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree required in social work, psychology or other related field. Master's degree strongly preferred OR Registered Nurse, Bachelor's or higher

    Experience:

    • A minimum of two years of experience working in a residential facility for children, of which one year must be supervisory. At least five years of experience working with children.
