Ambulance Driver provides transportation for sick or injured individuals to medical facilities for treatment. Summary: Mobile Care works closely with the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics to provide Emergency and Non-Emergency ambulance transports in the inter-facility setting. This position requires limited patient contact and minimal patient care documentation.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
Valid Iowa Class C License required.
Emergency Medical Technician Certification in the State of Iowa is required.
AHA HCP CPR required.
PHTLS preferred.
National Registry Certification preferred.
Emergency Vehicle Driving Safety Course preferred
Responsibilities/essential functions: The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Be prepared to respond in a timely and safe manner to immediate requests for transport and scheduled requests for take-back transport.
Communicates with Air COMM dispatchers & CARE dispatchers in a timely and professional manner.
Daily and weekly ambulance checks following the provided check sheets.
Be present at shift change meetings 0630-1830 & 1830-0630.
Transport of patient(s) and transport team established in protocols per EMS guidelines.
Documents in the Mobile Care binder and Google Drive all pertinent patient information in an accurate manner and before the end of the shift.
Attends department in-services and staff meetings as required or requested.
Acts in a professional manner.
Operates the Mobile Care Ambulances in accordance with the driving policy.
Remains available to transport the team throughout the shift.
Assist the crew during transport as requested.
Noting vitals, medications, procedures, etc. for charting purposes.
Acts in a professional manner reflecting the mission, vision and values of Care Ambulance and UIHC.
Cleaning and refueling the ambulance after every transport.
Participates in staff meetings and continuing education as directed.
Regular and reliable attendance is expected.
Comply with HIPAA regulations.
Follow infection control policy
All other duties as assigned.
Full Time employees are eligible for shift differential ranging from $1.00-$2.50/hour
