Director of Alumni Relations
Tower Hill School is seeking a Director of Alumni Relations to strengthen and grow relationships between the School and our alumni community. Starting in July 2024 and reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Director of Alumni Relations must be self-motivated, organized, creative in their work, and committed to building and growing alumni programs. The ideal candidate will be an active member of the vibrant school and alumni community and an individual who is comfortable taking the initiative to develop and implement new ideas, programming, and events.
Responsibilities:
Establish and strengthen relationships between Tower Hill and our alumni community
Work with the Head of School, Director of Advancement and Enrollment Management, Director of Communications, Advancement Team, and other partners and committees to provide vision, leadership, and oversight in planning and executing the vision and strategy of the school related to alumni engagement
Maintain a fundraising portfolio focused on young alumni, reunion giving, and for other important annual events run by the Advancement Office
Coordinate and manage a comprehensive events calendar for Advancement, including but not limited to planning and oversight of Homecoming and Reunion Weekend and other alumni engagement events, on and off campus
Establish, plan and host regional alumni events
Recruit and chair planning committees for high-profile events including Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, and Golf Outing
Develop and manage an effective volunteer management system that supports the objective of engaging alumni in meaningful volunteer opportunities and serving as a source of alumni talent and resources for students, faculty, and staff
Manage Tower Hill’s Alumni Council and its volunteers, activities, meetings, and giving
Design and implement programs for current students including Alumni Connections event (formerly Career Day), Senior Dinner and Brick Presentation
Work with Director of Communications and the Advancement Team to create and contribute content for monthly alumni e-newsletter and Bulletin magazine
Work with the Advancement team and Reunion Committee members to develop, plan and execute reunion class giving
Manage vendor relationships including our online Alumni engagement tool, AlumniFire, and Golf Outing venue and logistics
Utilize reports from Raiser’s Edge to analyze metrics
Assist with general Advancement team operations such as mailings and database entries
Maintain professional relationships with all members of the school community
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree
2 or more years of demonstrated events management experience
2 or more years of demonstrated fundraising and stewardship success in a non-profit or independent school setting
Demonstrated ability to strategize, implement, and build constituency programs and activities, along with a talent for motivating volunteers
Strong writing, planning, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently as well as thrive in a team environment to achieve institutional goals
High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information
Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines
Experience with a) Raiser's Edge NXT or a similar constituent database and b) AlumniFire or similar online alumni engagement tool
Ability to occasionally travel and work evenings and weekends as needed
