  • The Doubletree by Hilton Norfolk Airport Hotel is currently recruiting for Painters. The Position as painter is responsible for painting, finishing, and maintaining the interior and exterior surfaces of the hotel. Prepares surfaces for painting and finishing by applying undercoats and finish coats while using a range of application methods and materials. Must be reliable and courteous. Must be familiar with Dry Wall preparation and maintenance.

The Hotel emphasizes a team approach and fully expects every Team Member to perform any reasonable task or request consistent with fulfilling Hotel objectives.

    Prerequisites

    • Ability to work standard community hours.
    • A professional image and attitude.

    Key Duties

    • Prepare, prime, sand, seal, patch, and paint surfaces.
    • Tape, repair, and apply texturing on a variety of surfaces.
    • Operate, clean, and maintain painting equipment (i.e. brush, roll, sprayer, pumps, etc.)
    • Use ladders as necessary and safely.

    Essential Functions

    • Understand OSHA standards and comply with Hotel safety policies at all times.
    • Physical Demands
    • Regularly required to stand.
    • Ability to climb stairs, walk, and balance is frequently needed.
    • Sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl is frequently needed.
    • Push or pull to move equipment, open and close doors, etc.
    • Climb ladders to perform paint work.
    • Grasping/gripping/turning to operate tools/equipment.
    • Ability to taste or smell is frequently needed.
    • Reaching above the shoulders frequently needed.
    • Finger dexterity to operate tools frequently needed.
    • Lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. occasionally needed.
    • Constant need for vision in small detail, beyond arm’s reach, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Experience:
