Conducts routine servicing to optimize the lifetime of aircraft airframe and engine components according to internal procedures, guidelines, and technical handbooks. Being an Aircraft Mechanic Assistant utilizes a variety of tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine malfunctioning parts of aircraft engines and assemblies. Follows company protocols to maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization within the hangar or workshop. Additionally, Aircraft Mechanic Assistant recommends part changes or adjustments to ensure compliance with all federal aviation regulations, standards, and specifications. Maintains accurate records of services and procedures performed and documents and reports issues, concerns, and unusual wear or damage of parts. Requires a high school diploma. Requires FAA Airframe (A) and Powerplant (P) Mechanic License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Aircraft Mechanic Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job Summary
An airframe and powerplant (A&P) mechanic maintains the airframe and engines of aircraft to meet FAA standards. This job involves tasks such as performing routine checks and repairs, installation of options and custom kits, keeping records of inventory and identifying faults with components of the plane.
This position is primarily for our repair stations but will also require work in our production facility as well. Overtime and weekend work may be required to maintain customer schedules. A&P mechanics should have strong mechanical abilities and knowledge, be incredibly detail-oriented and thorough, and be skilled at working with complex information and equipment.
