Compensation: $65,000 - $95,000 annually/Relocation Assistance
SUMMARY: Supervise all vehicle maintenance personnel and provide leadership and skills to employees. Plan and schedule daily work assignments to ensure a productive environment. Oversee the maintenance program and shop safety program. Prepare monthly reports as required.
Maintain repair records in accordance with company policy. Manage the Facilities maintenance and repair on an ongoing basis.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: - Individual reports to the Director of Industrial Maintenance with dotted line reporting to Division President.
- Manage the Maintenance and Facilities department budget.
- Work is performed independently, and performance is measured through reports, conferences, and a review of results obtained.
- Supervise the inspection, repair, and servicing of all fleet vehicles. Maintain equipment PM service intervals and records. Ensure that working areas are properly maintained and cleaned and OSHA compliant. Responsible to ensure that inventory control, security, safety, and shop policies are adhered to.
- Responsible for the supervision of employees working in the vehicle maintenance and vehicle cleaning areas.
- The Maintenance Manager will, with guidance from the company Safety Manager, conduct quarterly safety training classes and maintain records for such training.
- Ensure all fleet vehicles are in safe operating condition.
- Review the work of employees in the maintenance department for accurate completion in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance to all skill levels on the procedures related to vehicle maintenance and component repair.
- Must become proficient in the use of company's computer maintenance program used in work order processing, PM scheduling, parts purchasing and inventory control.
- Conduct periodic road testing of coaches, vans, and support vehicles.
- Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: - Work with the Industrial Maintenance Director and Controller with budget preparation and monitoring.
- Maintain records for all vehicles and equipment alongside the Industrial Maintenance Coordinator.
- Ensure the compliance of all regulatory agency requirements and that all inspections are passed with top scores.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS - Work experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Requires at least three years' supervisory experience or experience sufficient to demonstrate complete competency and knowledge of the principles of supervisory practices.
- Requires knowledge in all areas of bus/fleet maintenance with at least five years of journey level experience in the repair and maintenance of buses and motorcoaches and heavy-duty diesel equipment.
- Ability to work effectively under extreme pressure to resolve a wide variety of work-related issues.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to plan, assign, and delegate the work of subordinates.
- Mathematical ability to accurately complete required reports and manage the Maintenance Department budget.
- Requires knowledge in the use of computer terminals and data input and output.
- Requires knowledge of state and federal safety and hazard communications requirements.
- Requires knowledge of US DOT vehicle maintenance standards and requirements.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Must possess (or be willing and able to obtain) a valid CDL driver's license with passenger endorsement from the state of residence and maintain a good driving record.
- Must maintain a valid Driver's Medical Certification with annual renewal under company policy.
- Must pass an employment physical examination and drug test to be certified for the position and maintain a physical condition which, either with or without accommodation, allows completion of all essential duties.
