Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages engineering tasks involving changes or alterations to designs or specifications of aircraft parts, modules, or systems to ensure calibration and safety. Implements procedures to guide the routine inspection of aircraft components to facilitate optimal and reliable functionality. Being an Aircraft Maintenance Manager oversees the scheduling and timely completion of repairs and maintenance ensuring budget adherence. Reviews documented issues and reports to determine repairability and evaluates recommendations for replacements, repairs, or modifications to ensure conformance with safety standards and performance requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Maintenance Manager evaluates aircraft data and technical documents and researches new technologies to identify areas to improve practices or processes. Develops internal policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with federal aviation regulations and safety standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Aircraft Maintenance Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. We're looking for a full-time Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) who has valid Airframe & Powerplant certification to join our Technical Operations team in one of United's domestic HUBS.

    In this vital role, you will provide service and maintenance for aircraft systems, Powerplant, Airframe and Components. You'll handle a wide variety of duties that make every day different, including inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, parts replacement and repair, as well as routine maintenance.

    • Since this is a union position based on seniority, you will be assigned an initial schedule designed to meet our needs at the airport.
    • You must be available for any shift within a 24/7 operation, weekends and holidays
    • You may be required to work mandatory overtime, when necessary.

    Qualifications What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
    • High School Diploma or GED/Educational Equivalent
    • FAA A&P License
    • Valid US Drivers License
    • Computer literacy
    • Must pass a background check and drug screen upon contingent job offer
    • An eagerness to learn and willingness to train
    • The ability to access elevated aircraft areas via ladders, lift trucks, boom lifts and other devices
    • The strength to lift 50 pounds, physical flexibility and the ability to work in confined spaces
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
